LAKE EILDON

The Lake Eildon house responds to a sculptural context set high on the hill overlooking the Lake. Its basic formation is a slow curving segmented arc organised across the site to maximise views to the lake and hills beyond. Three simple colours were used to articulate the spaces; the dark blue colour being the accommodation wing, the taller silver form encompassing the entry foyer and storage area and the red volume being the living, kitchen and dining area. The volumes are generous in size and are tightly set out across the site. Large window openings capture bush and water views from the living area. Private and discreet views are captured from the entrance and bedroom areas. A simple sculptural concept for a beautiful setting: ‘less is more’.
